Sòng Mǐnqiú 宋敏求 (1019–1079), zì Cìdào 次道, was a Northern Sòng historian-bibliographer from Zhàozhōu Píngjí 趙州平棘 (modern Héběi). Son of Sòng Shòu 宋綬 (Xuānxiàngōng 宣獻公, can-zhī zhèngshì 參知政事 under Rénzōng), he passed the jìnshì in Bǎoyuán 寳元 1 (1038) and rose through Hànlín-Academy and Lóngtú gé 龍圖閣 zhí xuéshì 直學士 ranks to Shǐguǎn xiūzhuàn 史館修撰. He participated in the official Sòng compilation of the Xīn Táng shū 新唐書 under Ōuyáng Xiū 歐陽修 and Sòng Qí 宋祁, where his unmatched knowledge of Táng history was essential. He was also responsible for completing his father’s Cháohè dà chǔzhì 朝會大儲制 collection of Sòng court ritual and for compiling, in private, an enormous Táng wǔzōng yǐxià shílù 唐武宗以下實錄 (148 juàn; lost) — an attempt to fill the gap left in the official Táng veritable records by the post-845 lacuna. His best-known surviving works are the Chángān zhì 長安志 (in 20 juàn, the foundational gazetteer of Táng-period Chang’an, KR2k0027 in some editions) and the Táng dà zhàolìng jí 唐大詔令集 (KR2f0010), which he edited from his father’s draft into the canonical 130-juàn form completed in Xīníng 3 (1070).

His career took a sharp turn in 1070 when, while serving as Zhī zhìgào 知制誥 (Hànlín drafter), he refused to draft the appointment of Lǐ Dìng 李定 (the controversial Wáng Ānshí appointee) and was demoted — the fēnghuán cítóu 封還詞頭 episode mentioned in his own preface to the Táng dà zhàolìng jí. Sòng shǐ j. 291 has his biography. He died in Yuánfēng 元豐 2 (1079); CBDB id 1571.
