Native of Chéngdū 成都 (Sìchuān); tonsured at Tángān 唐安 (Sìchuān); pilgrimage through Sìchuān, then via Wǔdīng 五丁 corridor to Chǔ (Húběi/Húnán). Final transmission from Yuǎnwēng at Xiāngyánshān Dàngshān 香巖山宕山. Abbacies: Dèngzhōu Dānxiá 鄧州丹霞, Xiāngzhōu Dòngshān 襄州洞山, and several major monasteries in Shānyòu 山右 (Shǎnxī).
