Sonben 尊辨 (also written 尊辧) — Medieval Japanese Hossō 法相 (Yogācāra / Faxiang) scholar-monk, known from the colophon of his only surviving canonical work KR6o0080 Qǐxìnlùn chāochū 起信論抄出 (T69n2283), a two-fascicle question-and-answer exposition of KR6o0078 Dàchéng qǐxìnlùn 大乘起信論 (T1666) using Hossō scholastic categories. Precise lifedates are not preserved in standard biographical sources. On internal grounds — the work cites Fǎzàng 法藏 (Hossō reception of his Yìjì) and the standard Heian-era Hossō inmyō terminology, but no Kamakura material — composition is conventionally placed in the late Heian period.
