Late-Míng Yogācāra scholar-monk, Xūzhōng 虛中 (also recorded as Xūzhōng Guǎngyì 虛中廣益). Lifedates unrecorded. A late-life disciple of 德清 Hānshān Déqīng (1546–1623), to whom Hānshān entrusted the project of compiling concise primers for the resurgent late-Míng Yogācāra study programme. On Hānshān’s instruction, Guǎngyì produced two short zuǎnshì 纂釋 (“compiled-and-explicated”) manuals — KR6n0104 Bǎifǎ míngmén lùn zuǎn 百法明門論纂 (X48n0803) and KR6n0136 Bā shí guījǔ zuǎnshì 八識規矩纂釋 (X55n0894), the two standard introductory aids to the Bǎifǎ míngmén lùn and the Bā shí guījǔ sòng respectively. Both works carry Hānshān’s personal endorsement (手批). According to Shèngyán’s Míngmò Fójiào yánjiū 明末佛教研究 (pp. 222–223), they are designed as elementary 入門 manuals, condensing the Cí’ēn-school exegetical tradition into a compact form for late-Míng readers re-entering the Fǎxiàng curriculum.

He is associated with Kuāngshān Wǔrǔ 匡山五乳 (the Five-Breasts peak of Mount Lú, where Hānshān had his late retreat). Not to be confused with the late-Yuán / early-Míng Línjì abbot Zhòngxū Guǎngyì 仲虗廣益 (DILA A024984, abbot of Guāngxiàosì 光孝寺) — these are separate persons.
