Major late-Míng connoisseur and bibliophile; originally named Qiāndé 謙德 ( Shūyì 叔益), later changed his name to Chǒu ( Qīngfù 青父); hào Mǐān 米庵, of Kūnshān 崑山. Lifedates 1577–1635 per catalog meta. Fourth-generation of a major Sòng-and-Yuán piece-collecting family. The studio name Mǐān and the cognate Bǎomǐxuān 寶米軒 are taken from his acquisition of Mǐ Fú’s Bǎozhāng dàifǎng lù KR3h0023 autograph in Wànlì yǐmǎo (1615). Author of an extraordinary cluster of connoisseurial works: KR3h0055 Qīnghé shūhuà fǎng 清河書畫舫 (1616, the principal late-Míng connoisseur’s compendium); KR3h0056 Zhēnjī rìlù 真蹟日錄 (his daily authentic-piece register); KR3h0057 Qīnghé shūhuà biǎo 清河書畫表 (a tabular summary); KR3h0058 Shūhuà jiànwén biǎo 書畫見聞表; KR3h0059 Nányáng shūhuà jí 南陽書畫集. Zhāng’s establishment of Mǐ Fú’s correct life-dates as 1051–1107 (57 years) — against the Sòngshǐ biography’s 48-year error — is one of the most precise pieces of late-Míng connoisseurial kǎozhèng.
