Zhāng Chǎng 張昶, late-Míng physician of Dàliáng 大梁 (Kāifēng, Hénán). His preface to Xiǎoér zhūzhèng bǔyí 小兒諸證補遺 (KR3ej032) is signed Chóngzhēn jiǔnián suìcì bǐngzǐ júyuè shàng huàn wǔrì Dàliáng qīshísì suì lǎorén Zhāng Chǎng 崇禎九年歲次丙子菊月上浣五日大梁七十四歲老人張昶序 — Chóngzhēn 9 (1636) chrysanthemum-month (ninth lunar month) fifth day, by the Dàliáng seventy-four-year-old Zhāng Chǎng. The age statement (74 in 1636) places his birth in 1563 (Jiājìng 42). The preface positions the work as a companion supplement to his earlier Wènduì 問對 (Question-and-Reply, an adult medical yīàn), specifying particular paediatric disorders not covered there.
