Zhāng Chún 張淳 (1121–1181). Zì Zhōngfǔ 忠甫. Native of Yǒngjiā 永嘉 (modern Wēnzhōu, Zhèjiāng). Career under Sòng Xiàozōng: in the eighth year of Qiándào (1172), held office as Liǎngzhè zhuǎnyùn pànguān 兩浙轉運判官 and concurrently Zhí Mìgé 直秘閣 of the Imperial Library. The Wēnzhōu prefect Zēng Dài 曾逮 commissioned a new printing of the Yílǐ Zhèngshì zhù in 17 juan with Lù Démíng’s Shìwén in 1 juan; Zhāng Chún was charged with the textual collation. The collation results, organised separately as a list of corrections, became his KR1d0029 Yílǐ shíwù 儀禮識誤 in 3 juan (1172).
Zhāng’s collation work drew on multiple Sòng-period exemplars: the imperial Stone Classic engraved 953 and re-engraved 959; the Bīanjīng (Kāifēng) jīnxiāng (small-format wallet) edition; the Hángzhōu small-character edition; the Yánzhōu jīnxiāng re-cut edition; and Lù Démíng’s Jīngdiǎn shìwén. The work was praised by Zhū Xī as “thorough and careful, exceeding all other editions.” It is the principal Southern Sòng critical-edition study of the Yílǐ and the foundation of the late-Qīng dānshū recovery work (cf. KR1d0027).
