Mid-Míng official from Wǔjìn 武進 (modern Chángzhōu 常州 in Jiāngsū), courtesy name Cháowén 朝文. CBDB has multiple records (id 338384, 540528, 353726) of which none has firm lifedates. He took the jìnshì in Hóngzhì 3 (gēngxū = 1490) and served first as Xíngbù láng 刑部郎 in the metropolitan administration; he was then sent out as Guǎngdōng cháánsī qiānshì fēnxún Lǐngdōng 廣東按察司僉事分巡嶺東; he ended his career as Yúnnán cháánsī fùshǐ 雲南按察司副使. He is principally remembered as the editor of the Míng míngchén wǎnyǎn lù 明名臣琬琰錄 (KR2g0038; qiánlù 24 juàn + xùlù 22 juàn), a 212-man anthology of stelae, zhìmíng, xíngzhuàng, and biographies of early-Míng (Hóngwǔ through Hóngzhì) officials, in conscious imitation of Dù Dàguī’s Sòng Míngchén bēizhuàn wǎnyǎn jí.
