徐繼恩

Xú Jì’ēn 徐繼恩 (1615–1684)

Lay name of the early-Qīng Cáodòng-school Chán master 淨挺 Liángtíng Jìngtǐng 俍亭淨挺, hào Yúnxī 雲溪. Trained as a Confucian scholar in his youth, he took refuge in Buddhism after the Míng–Qīng collapse of 1644 and was tonsured in 1642. Abbot of Cíyúnsì 慈雲寺 in Hangzhou and other Zhèjiāng monasteries. Author of an extensive Chán literary corpus, including the Yuèjīng shí’èrzhǒng (KR6i0587).
