Déjiàn 德諫 (lifedates unknown, fl. mid-13th c.), Yuán-dynasty Cáodòng Chán master; zì Xuětáng 雪堂. Dharma-heir of the great Yuán Cáodòng master Wànsōng Xíngxiù 萬松行秀 (1166–1246), whose Cóngróng lù 從容錄 commentary on Hóngzhì’s Sònggǔ 頌古 collection is the principal Yuán Cáodòng commentarial work. Resident at Yānjīng Dà Wànshòusì 燕京大萬壽寺 (the Mongol capital).
He composed the prose annotation (zhù 注) to the 《禪苑蒙求瑤林》 Chányuàn méngqiú yáolín (KR6r0097, X87 no. 1614) — the Chán méngqiú by the Jīn Cáodòng master 志明 Zhìmíng. Déjiàn’s annotation glosses the brief paired-couplet entries of the original with prose elaborations identifying the persons, events, and texts referenced, making the compendium accessible to novice readers. The annotation is dated by reference to Wànsōng’s death-date (1246) as terminus a quo. Per DILA Buddhist Person Authority A001694.
Works in the Kanripo corpus: KR6r0097 Chányuàn méngqiú yáolín (annotation).
