Kaidō Rinjō 快道林常 (1751–1810) — Edo-period Japanese Buzan 豐山 Shingi-Shingon 新義真言 scholar-monk active at the Buzan Aizen-in 愛染院; signatory of “上陽沙門” (“śramaṇa of Jōyō”). He prepared critical editions of several early-Heian Hossō yīnmíng 因明 texts, most importantly 明詮 (Myōsen)‘s Dàoshō 大疏噵 (KR6o0012) and its parallel Lǐshū 大疏裏書 (KR6o0013) at the Buzan Aizen-in. His Kansei 4 (1792) colophon on the Dàoshō documents his collation of the Bekuroku 別録 and Dō-hon 噵本 manuscript witnesses, recording his method as “from the two manuscripts together verified, following the more reasonable reading” (兩本雙撿以從理長者). Kaidō was a key figure in the late-Edo Buzan Shingi-Shingon editorial movement that produced critical editions of much of the early-Heian Hossō inmyō corpus.
