Wéizhèng 惟政

Samyeong Yujeong 四溟惟政 (Chinese Sàmíng Wéizhèng; 1544–1610), Korean Chosŏn Sŏn 禪 master, principal dharma-heir of Cheongheo Hyujeong (Sŏsan Taesa). Led monk-militia units during the Japanese Imjin War 1592–1598; subsequently served as a diplomatic envoy to Tokugawa Japan after the war. Major figure in the institutional consolidation of Chosŏn Korean Buddhism.
