扁鵲 Biǎn Què
Biǎn Què 扁鵲 (legendary name; given name Qín Yuèrén 秦越人, c. 407 BCE – c. 310 BCE), legendary Warring-States itinerant physician of Bóhǎi 渤海 region (modern Hébei); credited as one of the founders of the Chinese pulse-diagnosis (qiè mài 切脈) tradition. The Shǐjì biography (Biǎn Què Cāng Gōng lièzhuàn 扁鵲倉公列傳) is the principal classical source. Many later medical works — including the Nànjīng 難經 and the Biǎnquè shényìng zhēnjiǔ Yùlóng jīng 扁鵲神應針灸玉龍經 (KR3ee008) — are pseudepigraphically attributed to him.
