Ànwēng 按翁
Late-Míng Chán master, master of Lóngguāng Dáfū Yùnshàng 龍光達夫蘊上 (active late Míng to early Qīng). Born in the West-Chǔ 西楚 region. Lost his mother in childhood; vowed chastity and entered monastic life in the Chóngzhēn era (1628–1644). Obtained awakening at Xīfēng 西峰 in the “Lion’s Roar Chamber” (Shī hǒu zhī shì 師吼之室). His three-session dharma-language was printed after his cremation by disciples. Lifedates unrecorded.
