Wéndēng 文僜
Style name Jìngxiū 淨修. Chán master of the tenth century, abbot of Zhāoqìngyuàn 招慶院 in Quánzhōu 泉州 (Fújiàn) under the Mǐn 閩 kingdom and subsequently the Southern Táng 南唐. Dharma heir in the Qīngyuán 青原 line (Xuěfēng 雪峰 — Xuānshā 玄沙 — Zhāoqìng branch); student of Bǎofú Cóngzhǎn 保福從展 (d. 928).
Supervised the compilation of the Zǔtáng jí 祖堂集 (KR6q0002) by his disciples 靜 (Jìng) and 筠 (Yún), completed in 952. The Zǔtáng jí’s own prefatory material identifies Wéndēng as the abbot whose patronage and Dharma teaching gave rise to the work.
