Fāng Shìjì 方式濟 (1676–1717), zì Wūyuán 屋源, hào Yāoyuán 訞園; native of Tóngchéng 桐城 in Ānhuī. Son of the Tóngchéng school scholar Fāng Dēngyì 方登嶧 (1659–1725) and nephew of Fāng Bāo 方苞. Early-Qīng official and fēngtǔ author. Kāngxī jǐchǒu jìnshì (1709); held office as Nèi gé Zhōngshū shèrén. In 1713 his father was exiled to Qíqíhāěr 齊齊哈爾 (Tsitsihar, in Hēilóngjiāng) in connection with the Nánshānjí 南山集 literary case (the political prosecution of Fāng Bāo’s friend Dài Míngshì 戴名世). Fāng Shìjì accompanied his father in the exile, and during their joint exile composed the Lóngshā jìlüè 龍沙紀略 (KR2k0130) — the first systematic Chinese-language monograph on Manchuria based on first-hand observation. Died at Qíqíhāěr in 1717 without returning. CBDB id 56397.
