Shī Sù 施宿 (1164–1222), Wǔzǐ 武子, native of Chángxīng 長興 in Húzhōu 湖州 (modern northern Zhèjiāng). Son of the Sòng sījiàn 司諫 Shī Yuánzhī 施元之, the textual critic of Sū Shì shī jí 蘇軾詩集. He served as magistrate of Yúyáo 餘姚, then was promoted to tōngpàn 通判 of Shàoxīngfǔ 紹興府 — in which capacity he was the principal drafter and through-going compiler of the Jiātài Kuàijī zhì KR2k0016 (20 juan, completed 1201), running the project across the tenures of three successive prefects (Shěn Zuòbīn 沈作賓, Zhào Bùjī 趙不迹, Yuán Yuèyǒu 袁說友) and earning Lù Yóu’s preface for the finished work. Subsequent positions included Jīnqí jiànchéng 進奇監丞 (from which he was dismissed fāngbà in 1208 per CBDB activity table) and Huáinán dōng yùnpàn 淮南東運判 (1214 dismissal, with reassignment to a temple sinecure as former Huáinán dōng yùnpàn). CBDB id 21016 confirms floruit 1193–1205 with index year 1163; the lifedates 1164–1222 are standard in modern reference works (drawing on the Shī family materials, including the jìnshì roster). Shī’s jiāxué tradition focused on textual criticism and gazetteer compilation; his father’s edition of Sū Shì’s poetry (the so-called Shīzhù Sū shī) is one of the principal Sòng zhùshì of the Sòng poetic canon.
