Early-Qīng admiral and architect of the 1683 conquest of Táiwān; zì Zūnhóu 尊侯, hào Zhuógōng 琢公; native of Jìnjiāng 晉江, Quánzhōu, Fújiàn. Originally a subordinate of Zhèng Zhīlóng 鄭芝龍 and later Zhèng Chénggōng 鄭成功 (Koxinga), Shī Láng surrendered to the Qīng in 1646 after a quarrel with Zhèng that ended in the execution of his father and brother. He served the Qīng court as Fújiàn Shuǐshī tídū 福建水師提督 and led the imperial fleet that defeated the Zhèng régime at the battle of Pénghú 澎湖 (1683), bringing Táiwān under Qīng administration for the first time. He was enfeoffed Jìnghǎihóu 靖海侯 (Marquis Pacifier-of-the-Seas). CBDB (no. 56824) gives 1621–1696. The form 施烺 in the Sìkù tíyào of KR2k0152 is a typographical slip for 施琅 (preserved here as it stands in the Wényuāngé text).
