Southern-Sòng Tiāntái-tradition monk, former abbot (qiánzhù 前住) of the Chóngshàn Jiàosì 崇善教寺 on Mount Chìchéng 赤城山 at Tāizhōu 台州 (modern Línhǎi 臨海, Zhèjiāng); author of KR6i0565 Yuánjué jīng xīnjìng 圓覺經心鏡 (X10 no. 254, 6 fascicles). His autograph preface to that work is dated 皇宋寶慶丁亥夏六月 = summer 1227 CE (Sòng Lǐzōng’s Bǎoqìng 3), establishing his active period in the early thirteenth century. His preface relates that he received early monastic training at Tiāntáishān 天台山 (“早登台嶺”) and took up the Yuánjué jīng in later life. Lifedates and other biographical details not preserved.
The Mount Chìchéng region in Tāizhōu, sometimes called the “Northern Gate of Tiāntáishān”, was a major Tiāntái doctrinal-teaching centre throughout the Sòng; the Chóngshàn Jiàosì was a recognised Tiāntái jiàosì 教寺.
