Tánwúlán 曇無蘭 (also written 竺曇無蘭 Zhú Tánwúlán; flourished 381–395 CE) was an Indian monk active during the Eastern Jìn 東晉 dynasty. He is the same person as the figure recorded in KR6i0124 under the longer form 竺曇無蘭. He was based at Yángzhōu and is credited with about 110 short sūtra translations during a brief but extremely productive career. The Sanskrit equivalent of his name is Dharmaratna (literally “Dharma-Treasure”).
His translations include several of the canonical Āgama-parallel Chinese texts and short avadāna-style narratives, including KR6i0124 Ānán qī mèng jīng (T494), KR6i0134 Bǐqiū tīngshī jīng (T504), KR6i0140 Cǎihuā wéi wáng shàngfó shòujué hào miàohuā jīng (T510), and KR6i0168 Hē diāo Ānán hán jīng (T538). He is one of the most prolific minor translators of the Eastern Jìn period.
The two Chinese name forms 曇無蘭 / 竺曇無蘭 are interchangeable; the catalog meta uses both inconsistently across entries.
