Late-Míng imperial clansman and prolific compiler; descendant of Zhū Quán 朱權 (the Yǒnglè-era Níngwáng), of the Níngfán 寧藩 branch based at Nánchāng 南昌. Active in the Wànlì through Chóngzhēn decades. Author of numerous lèishū-style reference works and historiographical studies, including KR3h0053 Huàshǐ huìyào 畫史會要 in 5 juàn (completed Chóngzhēn xīnwèi = 1631), the principal Míng biographical reference for the history of painting; Shīgǔxué 詩故學; Língtán 駢雅; and several other works in classical philology and historiography.
