Lǐ Xiānfāng 李先芳
Zì Bóchéng 伯承, hào Běishān 北山. Native of Jiānlì 監利 (modern Húběi), with registered residence in Púzhōu 濮州. Jìnshì of Jiājìng dīngwèi (1547); held office through Shàngbǎo sī shàoqīng. Lifedates not recoverable.
The Míngshǐ Wényuàn zhuàn records that Wáng Shìzhēn 王世貞 included him among the Guǎng wǔ zǐ 廣五子 (the “Expanded Five Masters” of the late-Jiājìng / Lóngqìng literary circle); Lǐ Xiānfāng was one of these. Author of Dú Shī sī jì 讀詩私記 in 5 juǎn (KR1c0037), completed in Lóngqìng 4 (1570). Zhū Yízūn’s Jīngyì kǎo records a Máoshī kǎo zhèng 毛詩考正 by Lǐ Xiānfāng (no juǎn-count, “not seen”) but not the Sī jì; the Sìkù editors speculate that Zhū Yízūn either had two distinct works or was confused on the title — uncertainty unresolved.
