Lǐ Chángmào 李長茂
An early-Qīng practical-mathematical scholar, fl. late Kāngxī / early Yōngzhèng (c. 1690–1730). Birth and death years not securely recorded. CBDB id 333582 confirms the name and dynasty.
His sole surviving major work is the Suànhǎi xiángshuō 算海詳說 (KR3fc034) in 11 juàn — a comprehensive practical-arithmetic compendium in the lineage of 程大位 Chéng Dàwèi’s KR3fc027 Suànfǎ tǒngzōng, updated for the post-Kāng-xī mathematical environment. The work belongs to the early-Qīng popular-mathematical genre serving merchant-apprentice and elementary-school education, in parallel with the imperially-sponsored Shùlǐ jīngyùn 數理精蘊 (1722) and the Méngyǎng zhāi mathematicians’ more advanced productions.
