Dù Zhīgēng 杜知耕

Style name Duānbó 端伯. Native of Hénán; flourished in the early-to-mid Kāngxī period (active 1680s–1700s). Birth and death years not securely recorded.

A Kāngxī-period mathematical scholar; contemporary of 梅文鼎 Méi Wéndǐng. Two surviving works in the Sìkù — both 6-juan compendia for educational use:

(1) Jǐhé lùnyuē 幾何論約 (KR3f0049) — a 6-juan abridgment-and-commentary on the Ricci-Xú KR3f0047 Jǐhé yuánběn. (The Sìkù-meta indicates this work is included in the Sìkù but the source files are missing in the present Kanripo recension.)

(2) Shùxué yào 數學鑰 (KR3f0050) — a 6-juan re-organization of the Jiǔzhāng tradition with diagrammatic-and-textual annotations. The Sìkù 提要 quotes 梅文鼎 Méi Wéndǐng’s Wù’ān lìsuàn shūjì (KR3f0028) characterizing the work as “Mr. Dù Duānbó’s Shùxué yào — diagrammatically-annotated Nine Chapters — quite hits the essential vital-points; can serve as a model for the calculation school”. This is high praise from the leading mathematician of the period.
