Late-Yuán palace functionary and gōngcí (palace-verse) poet of Jíshuǐ 吉水 (Jiāngxī). Style-name Héjí 和吉. His career is otherwise unrecorded except through his own collection. From the self-glosses on his Luánjīng záyǒng 灤京雜詠 (KR4d0570) — in particular the note on the tāngyáng (mutton-broth) imperial meal allocation — it is clear that under the Yuán Shùndì he served as a shàngshí (palace-kitchen) supply official rather than as a wandering literatus, despite Luó Dàyǐ 羅大已’s bá describing him as a bùyī (commoner) traveler. He saw the dynastic fall and survived: several poems in the collection postdate 1368 and explicitly mourn the lost Yuán. The collection is the principal extant record of the Yuán Shàngdū / Luánjīng (the summer capital on the Luán river — i.e. the Khan’s annual northern court) court life and is one of the most-cited late-Yuán gōngcí corpora.
