Northern-Sòng waìdān 外丹 alchemist, hào Bàofù shānrén 抱腹山人 (“Hermit of the Embraced-Belly Mountain”), self-identified in his preface as a native of Xīhé 西河 in Fénzhōu 汾陽 (Shānxī). Author of [[KR5a0234|DZ 233 Huándān zhòngxiān lùn]], an alchemical anthology that he compiled (集) on the eighth day of the eleventh month of Sòng Huángyòu 皇祐 4 (1052). In the preface he records that he had been devoted to the Way “since beyond his twentieth year” and at last met an enlightened master who orally transmitted to him the jīndān teaching, after which he understood the principles of the alchemical classics. He then assembled the present anthology of “essentials from the alchemical scriptures of the various masters” for fellow seekers. No CBDB record was found and his historical identity beyond this preface is otherwise unattested.
