Yáng Wēi 楊巍 (1517–1608), zì Bóqiān 伯謙, hào Mèngshān 夢山, of Hǎifēng 海豐 (Shāndōng). Took the jìnshì in Jiājìng 26 (1547); cumulatively officed to Lìbù shàngshū (Minister of Civil Office); posthumously Shǎobǎo. He only began to write poetry in middle age (1555, age 38 sui), led by his colleague Cáo Biàn 曹忭. The Qīng-era Wáng Shìzhēn 王士禛 (of Yúyáng) praised his five-character verse in Chíběi ǒután as jiǎngǔ dé Táo tǐ (simple-and-ancient, got Táo Yuānmíng’s style); Yáng’s late-life poetic practice anticipates the Qīng shényùn (spiritual-resonance) aesthetic. His Cúnjiā shīgǎo KR4e0204 is the Zōu Guānguāng shāndìng recension in 8 juǎn; the earlier 3-juǎn Wáng Shìzhēn selection (cut by Xiè Chónghuī) is lost. CBDB 125335.
