Lóu Shú 樓璹 (1090–1162), zì Shòuyù 壽玉, of Sìmíng 四明 (Níngbō 寧波, Zhèjiāng). Southern-Sòng civil official, best known to art-history and agricultural-history scholarship as the compiler of the Gēngzhī tú 耕織圖 (Pictures of Tilling and Weaving), the canonical illustrated handbook of Sòng-period rice agriculture and silk production, presented to Emperor Gāozōng 高宗 c. 1145. He served subsequently as JīngHúnán lù zhuǎnyùn pànguān 荊湖南路轉運判官 (Fiscal Vice-Commissioner of the JīngHúnán Circuit) with acting jurisdiction over Tánzhōu 潭州 (Chángshā). On the death of his predecessor Liú Fǎng 劉昉 in autumn 1150, Lóu completed Liú’s unfinished forty-juǎn paediatric encyclopaedia Yòuyòu xīnshū 幼幼新書 (KR3ej010) within a month, combining the two unwritten final juǎn into one and prefixing a newly compiled qiúzǐ (conception) treatise as a new opening juǎn. He is one of the principal Southern-Sòng administrative-cultural patrons of the Chángshā region.
