Mid-Míng Cantonese scholar from Shùndé 順德 in Guǎngdōng, courtesy name Zhēnbó 楨伯. CBDB id 33901 attests his lifedates as 1516–1595. He was elected suìgòng in Jiājìng rénxū (1562) and held a series of educational offices: Jiāngdū xùndǎo 江都訓導, Guāngzhōu xuézhèng 光州學正, Guózǐxué bóshì 國子博士, ending as Nánjīng Hùbù lángzhōng 南京戶部郎中. He was a member of the Nányuán wǔzǐ 南園五子 poets’ group of Cantonese literati and a leading Cantonese cultural figure of his generation. He is principally known for the Bǎiyuè xiānxián zhì 百越先賢志 (KR2g0040) — a 4-juàn / 120-man collective biography of the worthies of the entire Bǎiyuè (southern coastal China) region from the Eastern Hàn down, completed in Jiājìng jiǎyín (1554) and printed in Wànlì rénchén (1592).
