Zhìzhào 治兆
A late-Qīng Pure Land monk active during the mid-to-late nineteenth century. According to the Qīngzhū jí xù of Zhào Chéngxià 趙成夏 (hào Shǎohé jūshì 少荷居士) — dated gēngwǔ zhòngqiū 庚午仲秋, most plausibly Tóngzhì 9 (= 1870) — Zhìzhào had by that point observed the Buddhist summer retreat (jiéxià 結夏) for thirty years, indicating sustained Pure Land society leadership from the late Dàoguāng era onwards. He is the compiler of the 《清珠集》 Qīngzhū jí KR6p0111 (X1192), a Pure Land devotional anthology defending orthodox niànfó practice against contemporary Chán literalism, drawing explicitly on the Confucian-Buddhist conciliation tradition descending from Liǔ Zōngyuán 柳宗元.
