Fǎshèng 法勝 (Skt. Dharmaśreṣṭhin “Supreme in Dharma”; also transliterated 達磨尸梨帝; DILA Authority A000722) was a Sarvāstivāda Abhidharma master credited with composing the Abhidharma-hṛdaya-śāstra 阿毘曇心論 (KR6l0015, T1550), the foundational text of the Hṛdaya summary tradition within Sarvāstivāda scholasticism. He is placed by modern scholars (Frauwallner 1995) in approximately the 2nd–3rd century CE within the Kaśmīra-Gandhāra region. Nothing further is known of his biography.
Note: 法勝 (Dharmaśreṣṭhin) should not be confused with 法救 (Dharmatrāta, 法救), another Sarvāstivāda master of the same era, attributed with the Zá āpítán xīn lùn (KR6l0017). Both names refer to distinct figures in the Hṛdaya commentary tradition.
