Dòngyáng zǐ 洞陽子 is the hào of a Mr. Lǚ 呂 of the Sìmíng 四明 mountain range (modern Níngbō, Zhèjiāng) who flourished in the Sòng or Yuán period (1127–1368). Nothing is known of him beyond his sole surviving work, the commentary on the Jiùkǔ miàojīng KR5b0058 preserved as DZ 399 Tàishàng dòngxuán língbǎo tiānzūn shuō jiùkǔ miàojīng zhùjiě KR5b0083. According to the preface by his friend Zhōu Zhǔn 周準 (hào Bàozhēn zǐ 抱真子), Dòngyáng zǐ had “early met an adept” and was “deeply versed in Zhuāngzǐ, Lǎozǐ, and the Daoist canon in general.” His commentary is a major Sòng–Yuán witness to the synthesis of nèidān 內丹, liàndù 鍊度 ritual theory, and the Jiùkǔ tiānzūn cult. No CBDB record.
