Early Yuán painting connoisseur; zì Jūnzài 君載, hào Cǎizhēnzǐ 采真子, of DōngChǔ 東楚 (the Huái river region). Active in Yánjīng 燕京 (Khanbaliq, the Yuán capital) in the 1320s; contemporary and friend of 柯九思 (Kē Jiǔsī, Jiànhuà bóshì under Wénzōng from Tiānlì 1 = 1328). Author of KR3h0037 Huàjiàn 畫鑒, the principal Yuán connoisseur’s manual of painting (the surviving text in fact a posthumous re-editing by an unnamed hand, as the Sìkù tíyào establishes). The work’s theoretical position — that painting connoisseurship begins from qìyùn 氣韻 and not from textual evidential investigation — represents the early-Yuán literati-school refinement of Northern Sòng connoisseurship in the line of Mǐ Fú KR3h0021.
