Mid-Qīng (Kāng-xī-era) Buddhist monk, sobriquet Yúnfēng dàorén 雲峰道人 (“Cloud-Peak Way-Person”). Lifedates unrecorded. Per the preface to Jīngāng jīng zhùshì 金剛經註釋 (KR6c0082, X25 no. 494), the layman Zǐzhēn 子真 (= Gǔkǒu Zǐzhēn 谷口子真) invited Pǔrén on Kāngxī xīnchǒu 二月十九 = 1721-03-17 to the xīnyì 新邑 to set up a teaching platform for the Vajracchedikā; over 40 days, ending Kāngxī 60 / 4 / 9 (1721-05-04), Pǔrén delivered the lecture series whose transcription Zǐzhēn’s jīshū 乩書 (planchette / spirit-writing) fixed as the present text — making this an unusual joint Buddhist-spirit-writing composition. The catalog credit-line for KR6c0082 attributes Pǔrén as the jīshū (spirit-writing-recorder) and Zǐzhēn as jīdìng (spirit-writing-collator).
