Jìwù 濟悟, hào Hèfēng 鶴峰 (“Crane Peak”), also Hèshān 鶴山 / Lóngtán Hèfēng 龍潭鶴峰 from his abbacy. LínjìYángqí dharma-heir of Língyǐn Jùdé Hónglǐ 靈隱具德弘禮 (1600–1667). Born 明天啟丙寅 9/20 = 1626-11-08 Gregorian; died 康熙丁卯 9/11 = 1687-10-16, age 62, jièlà 44. Native of Wúmén 吳門 (i.e. Wúxiàn / Sūzhōu); lay surname Fèi 費.
Formation. Wished to leave home from age 12; tonsured at Sōnglíng Luóhànsì 松陵羅漢寺 under Ruìzhī Guāng 瑞芝光律師. Took full ordination at age 20 under Pōushí 萬峰剖石. Cān-fǎng under Língyǐn Hónglǐ on the běnlái miànmù 本來面目 gōngàn — one evening, seeing a lamp-flower spark, had an opening. Later, while sitting qī with Bòān 蘗菴和尚 at Dàbēitáng 大悲堂, was overheard receiving a jǐngcè (warning slap) from his teacher Jù lǎorén 具老人 to a fellow monk and broke through. Final fùfǎ under Hónglǐ.
Abbacies (six). Lóngtán Fúshànsì 龍潭福善寺, Gūsū Bǎoshùsì 姑蘇寶樹寺, Dānghú Zhúyǐnsì 當湖竺隱寺, Tóngxī Jìzhàosì 桐溪寂照寺, Púshuǐ Fúshànsì 濮水福善寺, Fúshòu chánlín 福壽禪林.
Sole fǎsì. 上震 Shàngzhèn.
Work. KR6q0540 《鶴峰禪師語錄》 2 juan, J38 B421, compiled by fǎsì Shàngzhèn 上震 děng biān; with three prefaces dated 康熙壬申 = 1692 (by 安山同門弟 濟日 + 法弟仲弘道) and 康熙乙亥 = 1695 (by 靈隱同門弟 慧輅).
