Genshō 玄昭, Shingon-line Siddham scholar of the mid-Heian period. Precise lifedates are not securely attested in modern reference works; the Shittan ryakki KR6t0415 is the principal surviving work and is dated to the late 10th or early 11th c. on the basis of doctrinal vocabulary. He stands in the Kūkai → Annen → Genshō line of Japanese Siddham scholarship and his work, though derivative of his predecessors, was the principal Shingon noviciate Siddham primer of the late Heian and Kamakura periods. The DILA authority id is A001253.
