Wáng Yīng 王嬰 is a Jìn-period author known almost exclusively from the title-attribution on his lost Gǔjīn tōnglùn 古今通論 (preserved in the Yìlín 意林 of Mǎ Zǒng 馬總 and in Qútán Xīdá’s 瞿曇悉達 Kāiyuán zhàn jīng 開元占經). No biography survives in the standard histories. The Suí shū jīngjí zhì 隋書經籍志 records the title under the Jìn period without further notes. Sòng catalogs occasionally attribute the work to a LiúSòng or Qí figure of the same name; the conventional placement under Jìn follows the Suí shū and is the placement adopted by the Kanripo title-list.
