Foundational Khubilai-era 元 Hàn-Confucian civil servant and senior Hànlín literary office-holder; one of the principal poetic-and-prose figures of the early Yuán state. Zhòngmóu 仲謀; hào Qiūjiàn 秋澗 (“Autumn-Ravine”). Native of Jízhōu 汲州 (Wèihuī 衛輝, modern Hénán).

Career. Long career in the Yuán imperial bureaucracy spanning the Khubilai through early-Chéng-zōng reigns. Rose to Hànlín xuéshì chéngzhǐ 翰林學士承旨 — the senior Hànlín literary office; concurrent Tàizhōng dàfū 太中大夫. Composer of substantial Khubilai-era imperial zhìzhào and zòuyì.

Literary lineage. Disciple of Yuán Hǎowèn 元好問 (1190–1257) — the JīnYuán transition master. Inheritor of the Yíshān 遺山 poetic tradition of HánWèiTáng modeling.

Network. Close associate of Hǎo Jīng 郝經 (1223–1275, the great Khubilai-era Hàn-Confucian envoy); colleague of the Bùhūmù 不忽木 Khangli-Confucian senior advisor and other early-Yuán literati.

Principal contributions. The 100-juàn Qiūjiàn xiānshēng dàquán wénjí KR4d0464 preserves: (1) the Zhōngtǒng shénwǔ sòng — Khubilai-imperial-founding praise-piece (Zhōngtǒng era, 1260); (2) substantial and antiquarian poetry preserving Tang-Song site documentation; (3) the Nǐ Hánzǐ qiū huái and Jiǔrì hé Yuānmíng poetic-imitation cycles; (4) the Bàidiàn Lǔ Wénxiànwáng miào and Bàidiàn Xuānshènglín mù Confucian-pilgrimage records; (5) substantial Khubilai-era zòuyì memorial-archive material.
