Wáng Zhèngdé 王正德 is otherwise unknown. The Sòngshǐ has no biography; his native place and official posts are not recorded. The sole datum on his life comes from his own preface to the Yúshī lù 餘師錄 KR4i0034, dated Shàoxī 紹熙 4 (1193), which places him at the close of the reign of Sòng Guāngzōng 光宗. The Sìkù tíyào and the Wényuángé shūmù 文淵閣書目 record him only as the author of a single book; CBDB has no entry. He must have been a literary man of some learning — the Yúshī lù is a four-juǎn anthology of remarks on literary composition culled from authorities ranging from the Northern Qí down through the Sòng, betraying broad reading and an unusually evenhanded editorial hand, in marked contrast to the partisan tone of much late Northern-Sòng to mid–Southern-Sòng shīhuà. Floruit 1193, fl. dating from the catalog meta.
