Sòng scholar from Méishān 眉山 (modern Sìchuān), courtesy name Zǐsī 子思, contemporary of Sū Zhé 蘇轍 (1039–1112). CBDB id 10211 attests his name and dynasty but no lifedates. He had failed the jìnshì and was in retirement when he composed the Chūnqiū lièguó zhūchén zhuàn 春秋列國諸臣傳 (KR2g0020; 30 juàn; 191 biographies of Spring-and-Autumn ministers). On Sū Zhé’s recommendation he was nominated for the xiánliáng fāngzhèng in Yuányòu (1086–1094), placed in the fourth class at the palace examination, and posted as Sub-prefect of Lóngyóu 龍游. When Cài Jīng 蔡京 controlled Chéngdū and later as chancellor sought to recommend him for academic appointment, he refused all summonses and remained in retirement. His biography is in Sòngshǐ (in Wényuàn zhuàn).
