Wáng Dǎng 王讜 (c. 1050 – c. 1110), Zhèngfǔ 正甫, of Chángān 長安, was a Northern-Sòng literatus active in the Chóngníng 崇寧 – Dàguān 大觀 era (1102–1110). His standard biographies are scant — the Sìkù tíyào notes that “Dǎng’s name does not appear in the standard histories” (讜之名不見史傳), and dating relies on the internal evidence that the Táng yǔlín taboos the personal name 佶 (the huì of Sòng Huīzōng Zhào Jí, r. 1100–1126), placing him securely in the ChóngníngDàguān window. He belonged to a prominent Chángān Wáng clan: per CBDB (id 1889), he was the grandson of Wáng Kǎi 王凱 and father-in-law of the zǎixiàng Lǚ Dàfáng 呈大防; he is mentioned in Xù Zīzhì tōngjiàn chángbiān 413 and 430. Chén Zhènsūn’s Zhízhāi shūlù jiětí 直齋書錄解題 records him by and native place (“長安王讜正甫”). His sole transmitted work is the Táng yǔlín 唐語林 (KR3l0055), a Shìshuō-style topical anthology of Táng anecdotes excerpted from over fifty (now mostly lost) Táng xiǎoshuō.
