Wáng Kuí 王逵 (fl. 1368–1424; CBDB id 34583), a Hóngwǔ / Yǒng-lè-period Míng literatus of Qiántáng 錢塘 (modern Hángzhōu). The Sìkù editors revise the standard misattribution of the Lí hǎi jí 蠡海集 (KR3j0148) — which had been attributed to a Sòng-period Wáng Kuí by the Míng Bài hǎi printer Shāng Wéijùn — by carefully reviewing the three Sòng Wáng Kuí candidates and demonstrating that none of them fits, then citing Huáng Jīshuǐ’s Pín shì zhuàn (Biographies of Poor Scholars) which records a Wáng Kuí of Qiántáng, lame in one foot, who supported himself by selling medicines and divination and who was widely known for being well-read in zǐshǐ bǎijiā (the Hundred Schools). This Wáng Kuí is placed in Huáng’s biography between Zhāng Jièfú and Wáng Bīn — placing him in the Hóngwǔ / Yǒnglè period. The Sìkù editors regard the Lí hǎi jí as the work of this Wáng Kuí, written in the manner of Shào Yōng’s Guān wù wài piān and organised in eight thematic sections.
