Wáng Dàokūn 王道焜 was a late-Míng Hángzhōu 杭州 scholar-bookseller; passed the xiāngshì 鄉試 (provincial examination) in Tiānqǐ xīnyǒu 天啓辛酉 (1621). Death year 1645 (Shùnzhì 2) recorded in CBDB id 124346, consistent with his apparent disappearance from the record at the MíngQīng transition; birth year not attested. Lù Yuánfǔ 陸元輔 (cited in Zhū Yízūn’s 朱彝尊 Jīngyì kǎo 經義考) gives the basic biographical notice.

Together with his fellow-townsman Zhào Rúyuán 趙如源 (趙如源) he co-edited the composite Zuǒzhuàn DùLín hé zhù 左傳杜林合注 (KR1e0092) in 50 juǎn — the late-Míng student edition of the Zuǒzhuàn combining Dù Yù’s classical jí jiě with Lín Yáosǒu’s 林堯叟 (林堯叟) Sòng paraphrase, with Lù Démíng’s 陸德明 Yīnyì 音義 incorporated. The work was printed in Hángzhōu and circulated widely, though commercial reprints in the late Míng and early Qīng dropped the editors’ names. CBDB id 124346.
