Northern-Sòng grand councillor and antiquarian compiler under the Huīzōng emperor; zì Jiāngmíng 將明. Lifedates 1079–1126 (CBDB matches catalog meta’s “d. 1126”). Originally named Fǔ 甫; the emperor changed it to Fǔ 黼. Native of Kāifēng 開封. Rose with extraordinary speed through the metropolitan officialdom, reaching Shàngshū Zuǒpúyè and Tàifù (effective grand councillor) under Huīzōng. One of the central political figures of the late Huīzōng court, conventionally listed among the Liùzéi 六賊 (Six Traitors) — Cài Jīng 蔡京, Lǐ Yán 李彥, Tóng Guàn 童貫, Lǐ Bāngyàn 李邦彥, Liáng Shīchéng 梁師成 and Wáng Fǔ — by the Southern-Sòng historiographical tradition. Executed during the Jurchen sack of Biànjīng in 1126. Author of KR3h0087 Chóngxiū Xuānhé bógǔ tú 重修宣和博古圖, the imperial Sòng catalog of bronze antiquities (30 juàn, begun Dàguān 1107, completed in Xuānhé). The Yuán Zhìdà (1308–1311) recutting struck his authorship from the title-page as part of the political damnatio memoriae, leading to the long-current attribution to “Wáng Chǔ” 王楚 — which the Sìkù editors correctly recovered to Wáng Fǔ.
