Lú Wénzhāo 盧文弨 (1716–1795; some traditional sources give 1717–1796), zì Shàogōng 紹弓 (also Cháyú 磋餘 / Cuōyú, Yígōng 矣公), hào Bàojīng 抱經. Native of Yúyáo 餘姚, Zhèjiāng (resident in Hángzhōu). Jìnshì of Qiánlóng 17 (1752), reaching Hànlín shìjiǎngxuéshì (lecturer to the heir apparent). Dismissed from office in 1771 on grounds of supervisory negligence in a metropolitan-examination case. From 1771 until his death in 1795 he led successively the Zhōngshān (Nánjīng), Lóngchéng (Chángzhōu), Yángzhōu Āndìng, and Hángzhōu Chóngwén academies. The greatest jiàokān 校勘 (textual-critical) scholar of his generation; his personal cóngshū the Bàojīngtáng cóngshū 抱經堂叢書 contains his collations of the Yì lǐ zhù shū, Zhōu lǐ zhù shū, Lǚ shì chūnqiū, Báihǔ tōng, Xīn xù, Shuō yuàn, Hán Fēi zǐ, Yánzǐ chūnqiū, and many other pre-Tang texts.
