Zhēnsōng 真嵩 (Qīng, fl. 18th c.)
A Qīng Pure Land monk of Tiānníngsì 天甯寺 in Pílíng 毗陵 (Chángzhōu 常州, Jiāngsū), hào Pántán 槃譚 (“Coiled Discourse”). He is known principally for the Ēmítuó jīng zhāiyào yìjiě 阿彌陀經摘要易解 KR6p0030 (X22n0435), a brief commentary on the Smaller Sukhāvatīvyūma. The colophon signs him as 後學毗陵天甯沙門真嵩槃譚述. The Chángzhōu Tiānníngsì was one of the major Qīng Buddhist centres in the lower Yangtze, with a substantial Pure Land tradition and well-developed monastic publishing programme. Zhēnsōng’s Yìjiě belongs to this tradition. Otherwise undocumented in the standard biographical literature.
