Zhēnjiè 真界, hào Yuètáng 悅堂 and Huànjū 幻居. Late-Ming Buddhist exegete and Dharma-heir of Yuètíng Míngdé 月亭明得 (1531 – 1588). Native of Zuìlǐ 檇李 (modern Jiāxìng 嘉興 in Zhèjiāng). Resident at Zuìlǐ and at the Chuányī ān 傳衣庵 of Jìngshān 徑山 (the great Línjì Chán monastery in Hangzhou prefecture). Lifedates unrecorded; productive period in the late Wànlì era. Within the lineage diagram he is a “high disciple of Qiānsōng” 千松之高足 — Qiānsōng being a sobriquet of his teacher Yuètíng Míngdé’s broader school.
His extensive commentarial corpus includes:
- Lèngyán-jīng zuǎn-zhù 楞嚴經纂註 in 10 fascicles (KR6j0708, X15 no. 300) — synoptic compilation-and-annotation on the Śūraṃgama-sūtra.
- Qǐxìn lùn zuǎnzhù 起信論纂註 in 2 fascicles — synoptic compilation on the Awakening of Faith in the Mahāyāna.
- Jīngāng zhíjiě 金剛直解 — direct exegesis of the Diamond Sūtra.
- Yīn-míng rù zhèng-lǐ lùn jiě 因明入正理論解 in 1 fascicle — commentary on Dignāga / Śaṅkarasvāmin’s Nyāyapraveśa.
- Wù bùqiān lùn biànjiě 物不遷論辯解 in 1 fascicle — commentary on Sēngzhào’s 僧肇 Wù bùqiān lùn 物不遷論.
