Zhòngxián 眾賢 (Skt. Saṃghabhadra “Good in the Community”; also transliterated 桑伽跋陀羅; DILA A001123; c. 4th–5th century CE) was the leading orthodox Vaibhāṣika Abhidharma master and the principal intellectual opponent of Vasubandhu 世親 (世親菩薩). He was a Kaśmīri scholar trained in the Sarvāstivāda/Vaibhāṣika tradition and devoted his career to defending the Mahāvibhāṣā interpretation against Vasubandhu’s Kośa.

According to the account in Xuanzang’s Dà Tāng xīyù jì 大唐西域記, Saṃghabhadra spent twelve years composing the Nyāyānusāra 順正理論 as a detailed refutation of the Kośa. He originally called the work Tattvasiddhi, but after Vasubandhu acknowledged its quality and declined to debate, Saṃghabhadra renamed it Nyāyānusāra (“in conformity with correct method”). He also composed the briefer Xiǎnzōng lùn 顯宗論 as a positive systematic statement of orthodox Vaibhāṣika teaching.
