Shíwū Qīnggǒng 石屋清珙

Yuán-period Línjì Chán master (1272–1352), hào Shíwū 石屋 (“Stone Hermitage”); celebrated for his shānjū 山居 (“mountain-dwelling”) verses, a major model of Chán hermitage-poetry. Dharma-heir of Jí’àn Zōngxìn 及菴宗信; teacher of the Korean Sǒn master T’aego Pou 太古普愚, through whom Shíwū’s lineage became foundational for Korean Sǒn institutional history.
