Zhù Mù (fl. 1230s; d. by ca. 1256; zì Hégǔ 和甫; huì originally Bǐng 丙) was a native of Jiànyáng 建陽 (Mǐnběi). His father Zhù Kāngguó 祝康國 had been a personal disciple of Zhū Xī 朱熹, following Zhū to live at Chóng’ān 崇安; both Mù and his younger brother Zhù Guǐ 祝癸 received instruction from Zhū Xī in their youth. Mù never held substantive office; his honorary appointment as Dígōng láng 迪功郎 and as shānzhǎng 山長 (academy head) of the Hánjiāng 涵江 Academy in Xīnghuàjūn 興化軍 came late in life on the recommendation of the Chief Ministers Chéng Yuánfèng 程元鳳 and Cài Háng 蔡杭, who transcribed his writings and presented them at court. He is the author of two major works: the Fāngyú shènglǎn 方輿勝覽 KR2k0007, a 70-juan cultural geography of Southern-Sòng territory completed in Jiāxī 3 (1239); and the Shìwén lèijù 事文類聚 (a lèishū, in collaboration with his son Zhù Yuán 祝淵). CBDB id 11898 gives a fl-latest of 1256, consistent with his late-Lǐzōng activity. His biography is summarised in Sòngshǐ yìwén zhì 宋史·藝文志 and the Jiànníng fǔ zhì 建寧府志.
